The District of Columbia Army National Guard is composed of 10 units: * 74th Troop Command * 260th Regiment (Regional Training Institute) * 33rd WMD Civil Support Team * 121st Medical Company * Mobilization Augmentation Command * District of Columbia Medical Command * Detachment 4, Operational Support Airlift Command * Recruiting and Retention Battalion * National Guard Bureau Legal Support Office * Detachment 1, B-Company, 1-224 Aviation Security & Support Battaltion * HQ District Area Command (includes Joint Force Headquarters) ==Constitution== The District of Columbia Army National Guard has a unique mission. It is led by a Commanding General, and is the only Army National Guard organization activated by the President of the United States for natural and civil emergencies. (The Adjutant General of the District of Columbia reports to the Mayor of the District of Columbia ), who may only activate the National Guard assets for local purposes after consulting with the President of the United States, making the D.C. National Guard unique. Like all other Army National Guard units, the D.C. Army National Guard continues to support the United States Army and its national security objectives. District of Columbia Army National Guard units are trained and equipped as part of the United States Army. The same ranks and insignia are used and National Guardsmen are eligible to receive all United States military awards.
